Why do so many Payson garage doors need spring replacement around the same age?
Most houses here were built between 1979 and 2000, with a lot clustered around 1984, so the original torsion springs are all aging out around the same time. Combine that with cold-moderate temperature swings that add metal fatigue, and springs from that construction window tend to fail in the same 35-to-40-year range rather than lasting indefinitely.
